The Process

As the sole UI/UX designer (on a part-time basis) for the project, I worked closely with the Head of Product & Product Manager to understand the core needs and expectactions of our target users.

This involved an iterative process of conceptualizing, designing, and refining the user journey, ensuring that every flow was intuitive and user-friendly.a

One of my key contributions to the project was shaping the app's identity with the UI design. I also established a design system that served as the blueprint for consistency across MULA, enabling a more efficient and cohesive design workflow.

We engaged in several rounds of critique sessions internally, allowing us to refine before moving to prototyping. These prototypes would be used to conduct user tests to gather invalueable insights for overall design enhancements.

The Design

Financial Assessments

Simplicity and clarity were the key goals for us when designing the financial assessment journey. 

We wanted to make sure users are fully aware the key benefits of doing this. We also designed indications along the assessment to educate users on financial information. 

By streamlining the user journey, we ensured that the assessment journey was not only straightforward but also engaging.

Financial Health Reports

One recurring piece of feedback we received from user tests was that the reports were too wordy.

Consequently, we redesigned the reports in an infographic style, making the information easier to read and digest

Action Plan

Action plan to help users keep track of their financial plan. Actions generated from the assessment will be displayed here. User can also chose to add their own action.

Category Dashboard

Users can access each financial category dashboard to gain a better understanding of their situation within that category. Detailed views and reports for each sub-category are also available here.

The information displayed was carefully designed with the assistance of Certified Financial Planners to ensure it is not only useful but also meaningful for the user.
